This cool, animated, arcade-style blasting game is still in its infancy stages, but we like it already. It kind of has the feel of a cross between a classic Saturday morning cartoon, bumper cars, and a side-scrolling arcade shooter. You control Captain Bumper in his exploration though a mysterious planet that will have you blasting and bumping your way through asteroids, various space debris, and battling other enemy crafts. This Preview version features one level with some great animated graphics, fun music, sound effects, and a little tribute to Apple. This cat-and-mouse (and more animal chain reaction) puzzle game may seem harmless, but then it sucks you in and the next thing you know you’ve spent the last half hour playing it instead of meeting yur deadline. The basic premise is to scare the mouse into the mouse hole. The game features a checkerboard of tiles with a mouse hole and a mouse. The objective is to place various animals in strategic locations on the board to direct the mouse into the hole. Cat scares mouse, dog scares cat, and so on. All of you MacPlay fans may recognize this game. Formerly known as Power Pete, a game which was commercially released back in 1995, Pangea has acquired the rights to it and are now releasing a new and improved version of it, redubbed Mighty Mike, and are offering it as shareware. This top-scrolling arcade adventure is like Toy Story with a twist. Toy Mart has closed for the evening and the toys have all come out to play and little toy communities have formed. All of a sudden there’s a break out in the Stuffed Animal Zoo and hundreds of fuzzy bunnies have hopped away to oblivion. Toy Mart can be a dangerous place for fuzzy bunnies to wander around in alone and that’s where you, as action figure Might Mike, come in to save all of the fuzzies from harm. Be careful, there are many jealous toys who’d like to put an end to Mighty Mike. 68k and PPC compatible.
